WENTWORTH
In the summer of 2012, this project was to demolish an existing house on a private estate in Wentworth, Surrey & build a very large private residence including a basement swimming pool, cinema, staff quarters & bowling alley spread over 4x floors.
Bathroom Engineering were asked to review the proposed design and construction of the showers as there were concerns that ‘custom made’ drains would be needed due to high flow rate requirements. This was worsened as only limited build in height was available within the floor.
Bathroom Engineering reviewed the structure, analysed the flow rates and assessed the vertical space requirements. We concluded the aesthetic and technical problems would be solved by using the TEGEL floor drain and the Easy Fix installation kit.
This particular design had concrete floors, with only very limited space, yet required a capacity of almost 50 litres a minute from the German thermostats and ‘rain’ type shower heads.
Working closely with the architect, Bathroom Engineering suggested minor amendments to the architects original plans, to improve the aesthetics, simplified the installation, & save space within the concrete screed.
During a subsequent site visit, we undertook basic training of the on site sub-contractors, and agreed the best specification with the natural stone installers to ensure the shower wastes were virtually invisible, could handle almost 50 litres a minute, yet fitted within the limited space available.
