What is a wetroom?
It’s a bespoke shower area, it is a room or part of a room that is designed for washing with a walk in shower, waterproofed surfaces and drainage system.
How much space do I need for a wetroom?
There is no size or a shape limitation; the beauty of a wetroom is that it can be installed into any size bathroom. Thanks to the open plan feel of a wetroom and the minimal lines of a contemporary glass shower screen, even the smallest space can be transformed into a stunning wetroom.
What are the disadvantages of having a wetroom?
They have the possibility to leak (installer competence) they are more expensive, and also more time consuming to fit. If not done properly you can have a lot of problems.
Do I need to maintain my wetroom?
Yes, but no more than any other shower area.
Will my wetroom be slippery under foot?
Yes, we suggest using a coating of our anti slip paint if you have smooth tiles or use anti slip tiles on the floor of your wet room. That way it will not be slippery. And there is no hazard or risk of anyone slipping.
What depth of seal should my trap have?
50ml water seal.
Will the floor be true level access?
Depends on the products you want to use and the space you have in the floor. But usually yes its all one level, you just walk straight in then straight back out, you don’t have to climb over anything to step into anything to use the shower.
What does porous mean?
It means that water can permeate through the material. (It allows water to pass through it)
Can I get a drain designed for free placement?
Yes. You wouldn’t get it designed; the majority of our drains can be used for free placement.
What are flow rates & why are they important?
Flow rates are the litres per second or minute that a channel can handle. Water will fill up the bathroom, you need to makes sure it goes away, without leaving access.
